Gavin MacKenzie

Background
Originally from Fort William, I have been involved in sports coaching, sports development and outdoor leadership for 15 years, working with colleges, schools and professional sports clubs across the Highlands. My approach to outdoor leadership is driven by my personal passion for journeying in the outdoors; whether by foot, bike or kayak.
Central to my teaching is encouraging students to develop a deepening relationship with the natural world through an understanding of the ecology, geology and social history of the landscape. My current research interests are in place-based education and slow adventure.
