If you’re studying Geography, Environmental Science, Sustainable Rural Development or anything connected to weather and climate, you’ll likely meet Dr Eddy Graham. A passionate meteorologist, Eddy is known for making complex topics—weather systems, climate change and data science—not just understandable, but genuinely engaging.
Eddy holds degrees from Trinity College Dublin, the University of Reading, and a PhD from the University of Bern. His research and professional work span global projects, including collaborations with NASA, the UAE Rain Enhancement Programme, and the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (Tenerife), giving students first-hand insight into real-world atmospheric science.
He teaches core modules such as Climate Science, Atmosphere, Weather & Climate, statistics, and leads & mentors students doing their undergraduate dissertations. He also leads the new MSc programme in Extreme Weather. A committed and dynamic educator, he has been voted “Most Engaging Online Tutor/Lecturer” three times, reflecting his enthusiasm and student-centred teaching style.
Beyond the classroom, until recently Eddy was Editor-in-Chief of the RMetS journal Weather and enjoys sharing weather insights, climate facts and fieldwork experiences on Bluesky and occasionally YouTube.
