Lecturer in Sustainable Development at UHI North West and Hebrides

Charlie’s professional career went from firefighting to fisheries science to restoration ecology, conservation and community engagement and she is now a lecture for UHI alongside research and ecosystem restoration work.

She said: “Along the way I have come to realise that since many of the problems humanity faces are systemic, complex and involve patterns, our solutions are also more likely to succeed in the long term if they are systems-oriented, data-led and respectful of diverse human relationships and communities.

“If any of this resonates with you, do consider whether studying HNC/D Wildlife and Conservation Management or BA Sustainable Development might be a good option for you.”
