UHI golf team launch silent auction to support championship season

The UHI Golf Team, one of Scotland’s most competitive university golf teams, is launching a silent auction to raise funds for the 2025–26 season today, Monday 10 November.

Based in Dornoch, UHI North, West and Hebrides golf students study professional golf and golf management degrees with access to world-class facilities, expert coaching, and direct links to the global golf industry.

The auction, hosted on ‘Givergy’ from 10 to 24 November, will help support the team’s participation in national and international competitions by covering essential cost including tournament entry fees, travel, accommodation and team kit.

Auction prizes include signed memorabilia from golfing legends, rounds at some of Scotland’s most prestigious courses, exclusive international golf experiences, and a once-in-a-lifetime three-day trip which includes a day at The Masters 2026.

Graduate, Joel Thomson was team captain for the UHI golf team last year, said:

“Representing UHI has been one of the proudest moments of my golfing career. I’d love for more players to have this opportunity, and this auction will help make that possible.”

Graduate, Ewan Cuthbert, 2024/25 vice-captain, added:

“Being part of the UHI Golf Team has transformed my game. Competing and winning against the best universities in Scotland is something I’ll never forget. The team spirit here is truly special.”

This fundraising initiative supports UHI’s wider commitment to student success. Through scholarships, bursaries and enhanced student experiences, UHI aims to remove barriers and ensure every learner has the opportunity to thrive on the course, in the classroom and beyond. The auction is one way supporters can directly contribute to that mission.
