The awards bring together apprentices, employers and training providers from across the Highlands and Islands, recognising the contribution apprenticeships make to developing skills and supporting businesses.

UHI North, West and Hebrides Principal and Chief Executive Lydia Rohmer said: “It is fantastic to see nine UHI North, West and Hebrides apprentices recognised in this year's shortlist, alongside our Work Based Learning team. Congratulations to everyone nominated and I wish them every success at the awards.

“Our apprentices make an important contribution to the organisations they work for, bringing fresh ideas, enthusiasm and new skills into the workplace. This is made possible by employers who invest their time and resources in supporting apprentices and giving them opportunities to develop. I would like to thank NHS Highland, NRS Dounreay, UHI North, West and Hebrides, Sutherland Stepping Stones, Navantia UK Arnish, Serimax and Gow’s Lybster for their commitment to apprenticeships.

“I would also like congratulate and wish luck to our partners at UHI Inverness, who have also earned a high number of nominations this year.”

The awards ceremony takes place at the Kingsmills Hotel on Thursday 26 November.
