For the very first time, the Creative Arts Festival will showcase multidisciplinary work from the creative industries; including art, design, textiles, fashion, jewellery, music, film, creative writing and photography. Work will be on display at a range of events as well as online when a new virtual exhibition will launch on 19 May. The new platform will bring students work to new audiences and showcase the wide range of disciplines from across the arts at UHI North, West and Hebrides.

Full and part time students will be taking part in the festival, all of whom have been inspired by the rich culture and heritage of their local areas to inform their art. They are also encouraged to take advantage of a massively supportive local network of artists, designers, musicians and makers which have been developed by their experienced lecturers.

Peter Noble, Curriculum Manager for Creative Industries at UHI North, West and Hebrides, said:

“It is fantastic to see our first ever Creative Arts Festival launch across UH North, West and Hebrides. We will have the opportunity to see our students’ work from across the Creative Industries exhibited together for the first time both in person and online.

As well as a wide range of physical events showcasing and celebrating our students' hard work, we will have our first ever online exhibition hosting work from creative writing, music, art, film and more.

It is wonderful to see the culmination of everyone’s creative efforts across our centres, and to see the pride students have in displaying their work.  I hope many will join us to see the incredible work that has been produced across our creative subjects this year.”
