Our engineering courses provide students with transferrable skills across various engineering and manufacturing disciplines, allowing them to move into careers in a wide range of sectors, including renewable energy, oil and gas, nuclear, defence, shipbuilding, harbours and ports, and more.
We support training in disciplines, including:
- Fabrication and welding
- Engineering maintenance
- Control and instrumentation
- Electrical engineering
- Mechanical engineering
- Energy engineering
- Civil engineering
Our Technology and Innovation Centre in Stornoway has undergone a £2.3 million investment. We're inviting members of the public, parents, school teachers, and prospective students in to tour our new facilities, meet staff and find out about our range of courses starting this September.
The facilities include:
- Modern training facilities for engineering students and apprentices including virtual welding simulators
- A Future Energy Lab supporting learning in renewable energy technologies
- A Newton Room supporting hands-on experience in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.
