
The Creative Arts Festival is our annual celebration of the incredible talent, innovation, and hard work of students at UHI North, West and Hebrides.
Spanning across the Highlands and Islands, the festival brings together a diverse range of disciplines -from Fine Art and Photography to Music, Film, and Textiles. This year, you can experience the festival in two ways:
- In-Person Events: Join us at one of our local campuses or community venues to see the work up close, attend live performances, and meet the creators behind the projects. Explore the full schedule of physical exhibitions and events below.
- The Online Showcase: Can't make it in person? Our digital gallery allows you to explore our students' creative output from the comfort of home, featuring curated portfolios from every corner of our regions. (Coming soon!)
Events:
- A showcase of creative work from our drawing students, highlighting their skills and artistic development across a range of styles and techniques.
UHI Student Film Showcase - Cromarty
- A screening of short films that brings our students’ creativity and storytelling to the big screen.
Creative Arts Showcase - Fort William
- A multi-disciplinary showcase featuring creative work from our students across art, design, textiles and more, celebrating the breadth of talent across the creative arts.
- A lively afternoon of live music, featuring performances from our NC and HNC music students.
North Uist Degree Show & Open Studio - Taigh Chearsabhagh
- An exhibition of work from our art students, showcasing a wide range of creative practices, from sculpture, printmaking, drawing, photography, installation, textiles and more.
Photography and Contemporary Art Practice - Portree
- A showcase of work from our photography and contemporary art students.
- An exhibition of work from our NPA Painting students based at our Auchtertyre learning centre.
Contemporary Art Practice - Skye and Lochalsh
- An exhibition showcasing Contemporary Art Practice students’ final work, including painting, sculpture and mixed media, celebrating emerging creative talent from the Skye and Lochalsh area.
