What is special about this course?

The National Progression Award (NPA) in Cyber Security provides foundation knowledge and skills in data security, digital forensics and ethical hacking – providing the skills pipeline into the Cyber Security industry. These awards are designed to raise awareness of Cyber Security and fill the current skills gap in this field. They will encourage learners to improve their cyber hygiene and resilience and enable them to identify security vulnerabilities safely, legally and ethically. They will also help learners to contribute more safely to virtual communities.

Entry requirements

Evidence of core skills at a level 5 in communications, numeracy and ICT.

Adult returners who do not meet the entry requirements above may have to complete an adult returner assessment to demonstrate evidence of communication, numeracy and IT ability at a level 6.

You will learn online through timetabled classes delivered by a lecturer in a virtual classroom. You’ll use our virtual learning environment to access resources, complete assessments, and chat to your lecturer and classmates. You will also complete regular and flexible personal study which most students choose to do from home.
