Finance Assistant

Position: We are seeking a Finance Assistant to be based at our Thurso, Stornoway or Fort William campus.

Responsibilities: The post holders will support the Finance team in providing accounting support for the college. You will provide an effective and responsive customer service to students, customers, suppliers and staff. This is a broad-based role, and the successful candidate can expect to be engaged in transactional activities in accounts payable, accounts receivable and banking. This will include inputting supplier invoices onto the financial system, processing direct debits ensuring creditor accounts are reconciled and invoices are up to date, assisting with raising sales invoices and debt management and the review and processing of staff expense claims.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills: The suitable candidates will be educated to a Scottish Higher Level or above. You will have good IT skills and a meticulous approach to work and attention to detail. You will have strong customer service and communication skills and the ability to present data appropriately. Experience in processing accounting transactions with an understanding of Debits and Credits would be advantageous.

A level of Gaelic ability would be advantageous to your application.
