This session will introduce evidence-based approaches to strength and conditioning for adventure sports, followed by a practical opportunity to take part in a coached training session at Wolfhouse Gym. Participants will be guided by coaches and students from the School of Adventure Studies and Emma from Wolfhouse Gym.
The event is suitable for anyone who trains for a sporting activity, particularly in the adventure sector, including trail runners, mountain bikers, climbers, mountaineers, paddlers, skiers, and snowboarders.
The session will begin at the UHI North, West and Hebrides Fort William campus with a welcome from the School of Adventure Studies team, followed by a presentation exploring key approaches and frameworks for planning strength and conditioning to support your adventure ambitions. Participants will then transfer to Wolfhouse Gym, where they will take part in a guided, practical example training session led by experienced coaches.
The session will finish with an optional challenge, with prizes including free one-week gym memberships for the winners.
- Transport to and from Wolfhouse Gym can be provided.
- Event will last approximately 2 hours
