What is special about this course?
You will learn skills in creative and exploratory paint techniques and colour theory and then develop these into a personal painting project to a theme. You will have the chance to exhibit work at the end of the course. This course is open to anyone wishing to gain a formal introduction to painting skills. It is suitable for beginners, or those with limited experience in art and design looking to enter further education at an introductory level, or looking to study for leisure. It is also suitable for those returning to college after an absence from study or those wishing to develop a portfolio for application to further college and university courses.
There are no entry requirements, but bringing examples of your artwork to your interview is useful.

- Painting to a Theme
In addition, there are two internal units for the course, sketchbook development and preparing for an exhibition.
