This top-up programme covers Years 3 and 4 of the BA (Hons) Professional Golf and is open exclusively to current full PGA members. Until now, this route has been available only to students in Scotland and the rest of the UK, but we’re excited to offer it globally, reaching the many PGA members working overseas.

Entry requirements

  • Entry to this top-up degree at SCQF level 9 (BA) is:
    • DipHE Professional Golf
    • Foundation Degree or equivalent
  • You must also hold current PGA Membership
  • You must have regular and reliable access to the internet and a computer for any online degree at UHI in order to take advantage of our full range of online learning services, which include support from your tutors and fellow UHI students as well as access to UHI’s Virtual Learning Environment and vast online learning library. Advanced entry/Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):

  • Entry to SCQF level 10 (BA (Hons)) may be possible if you have PGA membership plus an Honours degree or equivalent qualifications: applications for RPL will be considered and assessed on an individual basis

How will I study my course?

  • Part-time
  • You will study fully online, some sessions are available live but all sessions are recorded, so can be accessed online at any point from anywhere in the world after the scheduled class
  • You may also be able to access sessions online from your local campus - please contact them directly for more information
  • Online study will be done via the university's virtual learning environment (VLE), with support from your tutors
  • You may have the opportunity to undertake an optional work placement in your place of employment
  • You will also have the option to take part in an online induction in the September before your course starts

How long will my course last?

  • Part-time: 4 years @ 10-20 hours per week

Fees are payable in advance each academic year unless otherwise agreed.

There are a number of funding options available to UK students to help you pay for your studies and your cost of living while studying.

EU/EEA and Swiss nationals without settled or pre-settled status in the UK

Following the UK’s departure from the European Union, the Scottish Government confirmed that EU/EEA and Swiss nationals, who do not have settled or pre-settled status, will be considered as international for fee purposes. Students will get an automatic scholarship of £3,000 per annum and the 4th year of study will be free for those studying full-time, on continuous study, who have paid for the previous three years at the University of the Highlands and Islands.

This includes EEA/Swiss nationals with pre-settled status who are not self-employed or migrant workers in the UK.
