Information on college closure decisions and procedures
In the event of extreme weather conditions, we advise you to:
- Phone the UHI North, West and Hebrides weather line on 01847 889280 where a recorded message will update you on the college's position for each campus/centre.
- Check our social media channels for the latest information.
The Executive Team of UHI North, West and Hebrides makes the decision to close our campuses in cases of inclement weather or major disruption of other services. The decision to close is not taken lightly as we are aware of the extra pressures put on students by a closure of the College and students returning home.
Decisions to close the College before 9am are usually taken at about 7am based on the weather reports and information from our staff across the North and West Highlands, Skye and the Outer Hebrides.
If you feel that the conditions are too bad you can make your own decisions regardless of whether the College is open or not.
